Our fruit is packaged to have a shelf life of 20+ years, although once you taste it, you are guaranteed to eat all of it. Our candy, well it won't last that long either....
We are in the Edmonton, Alberta region. We can ship Canada wide, and hand deliver within the Edmonton region. If you have a large order we may consider hand delivering to you, we are always excited for a road trip and opportunities to see and experience new destinations.
Freeze drying (lyophilisation) involves three phases: freezing, sublimation, and adsorption.
Freezing: Food is cooled to -40 degrees fahrenheit.
Drying (sublimation): The freeze drier creates a vacuum and ice crystals in the food are transformed into a gaseous form of matter, evaporating from the food.
Adsorption: The ice crystals settle on the walls of the freeze drier in the form of ice. The ice is melted and the water is disposed of.
Research has shown that freeze drying food can maintain up to 97% of the nutrients.
